Excellent job recording the events! I heard you didn't come out of this unscathed, however.

I hope the people responsible for all the damage are held accountable for their actions. On a positive note, I think more people will show up to root for the police as word gets out! Heck, why not make the turnout to root for the side of law a tailgate party like they do before a Seahawks game. We'll eat hot dogs and watch hippy's get pepper-sprayed. Now that's quality entertainment!

God bless the Olympia Police Department! It is truly unfortunate that the NOT PEACEFUL dissent of a few moronic potheads puts these officers in harm's way. Please spare no pepper spray. I hear that is smells really good mixed with patchouli!Keep protecting the soldiers and citizens!

People forget that protests like this is what stopped the Vietnam war and brought victory to the civil rights movement. Now that those goals are accomplished people act like they were good things. But at the time they were being fought for there were plenty of people calling the warriors in those battles unpatriotic and cowards. People think that the road to freedom is an easy one. It isn't. When people protest within the confines of the law it doesn't bring the same message as actual civil descent does. As for people saying these protesters are unpatriotic just take a look at the constitution. In case you don't remember thats what governed our country before George Bush was illeagally elected. In the Constitution, as well as our Declaration of Independance, it says if a government is abusing its power we as a country and people not only have the right but the obligation to stand up to that government. Someone earlier made a comment about all these protesters being a bunch of hippies and potheads. I don't think potheads and hippies have the motivation to put their very freedom on the line and go get arrested for something they believe in. Im proud to be from a town where some of the only real protests in the country are going down. I just wish I didn't have a job and other obligations that prevent me from being down there with the protesters. Id like to also take this chance to say although I don't support the war, I do support our soldiers. Im angry that are government would misuse the brave men and woman of this country just to get a few rich people richer. But im sure after dodging bullets, IED's, and RPG's that a couple of protesters in the road is the least of their worrys. This war makes less sense than Vietnam and you don't hear anyone talk about how are country would have been a better one if we only kept fighting that war. Christianity, Country music, and gun laws isn't what make you patriotic . Upholding the morals this country was founded on of Life, Liberty and pursuit of happiness is. Read the constitution again and then reform your arguement the next time you criticize protesters like these.

Great job American Patriots! We alone must fight the corporate invasion of Iraq and the murder/genocide of more than 1 million Iraqi people in order to gain control of their oil fields. Well done people, well done. The world is watching.

If you think these protests are a waste of tax dollars what do you all think of the trillions being spent in Iraq? What do you all think of soldiers dying for the rich population to get richer?

If you extreme left socialists were so darn concerned about the innocent Iraqis being killed, where in the **** were you while Saddam Hussein gased entire villages and comitted atrocious acts of genocide? Where your unemployed butts protesting that? How about the millions exterminated in Bosnia before the UN intervened? Could you put down your lattes long enough to protest that? Congrats on making the freedom of speech and protest that we have been given into such a mockery. Well done.

These demonstrators should be lined up and SHOT for TREASON. They are intefering with this great Nation's conduct of a JUST WAR AGAINST A MURDEROUS DICTATOR, justified by 14 UN Resolutions and a BI-PARTISAN CONGRESSIONAL AUTHORIZATION. They are brainwashed soccer kiddies fed constant proaganda from Soros and Move on.org that don't have a clue. If they can't stand the US so much, why aren't they living somewhere else. They disgust me and if I had been in Olympia I would have run them over with my SUV.

These people are massively inspiring. It's courage, plain and simple that makes a person stand up when their personal best interest is in shutting up. I stand with them 100%.

These people are massively stupid. I guess The right to protest peacefuly was never fully understood. Asses if you dissrupt lives of others it is no longer peaceful, and if you dont move to the side, and or vandalise property with dumpsters, you're no longer peaceful. I only hope the people or businesses whose garbage that was takes these shit for brains to court. WHY NOT they got alot of free time it seems. look you wanna be heard, be heard if you wanna try and fuck up flow of everyday life face the peperspray and i hope next time they beat people with battons. Look people you in the end have the ultimate choice it's called voting. what we were founded on. And if more people dont see the same way as you then thats too bad. Mommy and Daddy never taught them anything and it shows. I'd personally like to move up there become a cop just so i could have the joy ruining your fuckin day like you have to otheres now... EAT SHIT protesters and the tools who use words like beaten and attacked with chemical devices. CALL THEM OUT PEOPLE. HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH....

I voted for Bush twice, yet I endorse these protests. Bush lied to us, it's time to accept reality. Stop masking your cognitive dissonance with misplaced patriotism. True patriots recognize when government has ceased obeying the people (yes, government serves us, not the other way around). I used to make the same argument about the U.N. resolutions, then one day a man much wiser than me asked if I was a U.S. citizen or a U.N. citizen. My entire position on the Iraq war flashed before my eyes. Such a simple question, yet such massive implications. Indeed, the U.N. can get the *bleep* off American soil, if it were up to me. This *is* still America; we are not slaves to the will of the United Nations, which includes a bunch of rogue states and dictatorships. Should they be making resolutions to send our military off to bail out third-world backwater nations? I think not. One more thing: if the first amendment can be revoked *anywhere*, it has been effectively revoked *everywhere*. Search Wikipedia for "free speech zone" and prepare to have your blood run cold.

Right on, protesters! And don't be afraid of the port's empty threats to sue you; courts don't like SLAPP suits.
